Copper tin’aa featuring a moth design which embodies the idea of Tlingit wealth. The tin’aa is a powerful symbol of wealth. This tin’aa features a unique Moth design which, represents the type of wealth that I feel represents the idea of the tin’aa. Our Tlingit way of life teaches that we respect all animals and that everything has a spirit. A moth, goes mostly unnoticed in the dark, yet plays a crucial role in life as it feeds a miriad of small animals including bats, birds and small mammals. Also, they are pollinators. This is just the tip of the iceberg of the importance and connectedness all life has in our world. This is the original idea of Tlingit wealth, we are all connected and rely on the land and its ecosystem.
